A new venture that is underway at Finley Stadium is the rehabilitation of the kitchen in the First Tennessee Pavilion.

Funded entirely with a $168,000 grant from The Benwood Foundation, the space will become a “community kitchen” and will be available for small entrepreneurs and small food producers to rent by the day.

The operations will be handled by the pavilion, which will pay the stadium board $2,000 monthly.

Officials said the space has not been used since the relationship with Family Concessions ended and Hailey Bates was put in charge of catering for the facilities.

Even when it was used, it only produced $300 in rent monthly. The stadium will now realize $24,000 annually with a five-year contract.
