An investigation by special agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in the daughter of General Sessions Court Judge Gary Starnes being indicted for filing a false report and aggravated perjury.

On Jan. 21, at the request of District Attorney General Neal Pinkston, special agents and deputies with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office began investigating Christina Starnes Evans on a complaint of filing a false report and aggravated perjury, stemming from an incident that occurred in October 2014.

On Tuesday, the Hamilton County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Ms. Evans with one count of aggravated perjury and two counts of filing a false report.

On Thursday, Ms. Evans, 27, of Soddy Daisy turned herself in to the custody of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, where she was booked and released after posting $7,500 bond.

Ms. Evans was charged with domestic assault in July 2012, but her case was later dismissed.

She was arrested shortly before Christmas last year on charges of harassing her former boyfriend.

Police said Matthew Cunningham called the sheriff's office alleging he received multiple phone calls and text messages from Ms. Evans wanting to "get back together."

He said he directed her to stop calling him and to leave him alone.

He said she also drove by his house.

The charges against Ms. Evans that were brought last December were also dismissed.

Cunningham was arrested last October on charges that he assaulted Ms. Evans and her son. The charges were dismissed in December.
