The County School Board on Thursday afternoon will discuss replacement of the East Ridge High School stadium that has been condemned.
The board will also discuss whether to hire a structural engineer to look at the condition of other older stadiums.
Lee McDade, assistant supt., and Justin Witt, director of auxiliary services, said in a memo to the board:
"Since the recent closure of the East Ridge High School Stadium we have looked at options for moving forward. I would like to offer the following items for discussion and consideration by the Board:
"(1) Replacement of the East Ridge High School Stadium including cost, schedule, and scope of work.
"(2) Conduct a structural review on other existing stadiums that are of similar age and construction type. The review will be done by a licensed, structural engineer."
County Commissioner Tim Boyd said he got three bids on replacing the crumbling concrete stands at East Ridge High.
He said one bid was below $125,000.
Commissioner Boyd said the county and the city of East Ridge might contribute to the cost, but he said the county schools should take the lead."
