Bobby Wilson Moves Into New TWRA Role As Assistant Chief

Bobby Wilson has moved into his new role as executive assistant director for the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.

The veteran Agency employee will be responsible for the coordination of all field activities for the four TWRA regions and central office programs. The specific programs include wildlife management, fisheries management, law enforcement, and environmental services. He attended his first Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission meeting in his new position on Sept.

18-19 in Nashville.

Mr. Wilson assumes the assistant director’s post after serving as the TWRA’s Fisheries Division chief since 2010. He joined TWRA on Nov. 1, 1979 as a part-time fisheries technician. He became lake manager of Lake Graham in Madison County in 1980 before becoming a fisheries biologist in Region I from 1984-97. He served as assistant chief of fisheries beginning in 1997 before being named chief in the spring of 2010. He holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees from Tennessee Tech.

Mr. Wilson and Barry Sumners serve as assistant executive directors. Mr. Sumners is over TWRA staff operations.
