A toddler died after being left in a hot car at Chickamauga, Ga., on Saturday.

The incident happened at a home in the 900 block of Kensington Road.

Sheriff Steve Wilson said the 11-month-old boy was left in an SUV for about two hours after the family got home from church around 3 p.m.

The grandparents, Kyle and Meta Hendershot, an adult daughter, and a grandchild exited the car, but  forgot that Jaxon Taylor had been left inside.

The child's mother, who works a night shift, asked about the child after she awakened. The child was then found in the hot vehicle.

The child was given CPR by the mother and then taken to Hutcheson Medical Center, where the child was pronounced dead.
