Hamilton, Bradley, Polk County Schools Closed On Thursday; UTC Opens At 10; Courts Open; Other Closings And Delays Announced

Hamilton County Schools will be closed Thursday due to dangerous road conditions in the outlying areas. School Age Child Care will also be closed.

UTC will will open at 10 a.m. on Thursday. Employees should report to where they would normally be at 10 a.m. and faculty members and students should report to classes that would be in progress at 10 a.m. For most students, this means report to the class that would have started at 9:25 a.m. at the opening time of 10 a.m.

All Criminal, Circuit, Chancery, and General Sessions Courts are open on Thursday.

The National Weather Service said hazardous road continues will continue in many areas Wednesday night into the morning commute. While the heavier precipitation has ended, a few patches of freezing drizzle or very light snow will linger into the overnight hours.

Areas of freezing fog can be expected as well - some of which may be locally dense with visibility one quarter mile or less.

With temperatures remaining below freezing across much of the area, black ice may form where the road surfaces are wet.

Bradley County Schools will be closed on Thursday. All schools and the Central Office will be closed.

The Community Devotion, held at the Bradley County Sheriff's Office Community Room, has been cancelled for Thursday.

Athens City Schools will be closed on Thursday.

Baylor will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday.

Bledsoe County Schools will be closed on Thursday.

Boyd-Buchanan School will have a 10 a.m. start time on Thursday.

Brainerd Baptist Academy will have a 9 a.m. start time on Thursday.

The Bright School will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday.

Catoosa County Schools will be on a 2-hour delay Thursday.

Chattanooga Christian School will be on a 2-hour delay Thursday.

Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy will be closed on Thursday.

Chattanooga State will open at 10 a.m. on Thursday.

Chickamauga City Schools will be on a 2-hour delay Thursday.

Cleveland City Schools will be closed on Thursday.

Dade County Schools will be on a 2-hour delay Thursday.

Dayton City Schools will be closed Thursday.

Girls Preparatory School will begin at 10:15 a.m. Thursday.

Grundy County Schools will be closed on Thursday.

Marion County Schools will be closed on Thursday.

McCallie will begin at 10:20 a.m. on Thursday.

McMinn County Schools will be closed on Thursday.

Meigs County Schools will be closed on Thursday.

Notre Dame will begin at 10:10 a.m. on Thursday.

OLPH  will be on a 2-hour delay on Thursday.

Polk County Schools will be closed on Thursday.

Rhea County Schools will be closed on Thursday.

Classes are cancelled for Signal School of Physical Education for Thursday.

Silverdale Baptist Academy will have a 9 a.m. start time on Thursday.

St. Jude will be on a 2-hour delay on Thursday.

Sequatchie County Schools will be closed on Thursday.

Walker County Schools will be on a 2-hour delay Thursday.
