Peter Valeo
Peter “Butchie” L. Valeo, Jr., 66, of Hixson, Tennessee, formerly of Chicago, Illinois, died on Wednesday, January 20, 2016.
He always had a kind word for anyone who would listen. Besides his family, his greatest joy in life was his dog, Bear. Peter was a United States Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He later retired from the City of Chicago.
His parents, Peter L. Valeo, Sr. and Katherine Keim Valeo, preceded him in death.
Peter is survived by his wife of 29 years, Cynthia Valeo; three daughters, Gina (Mark) Burica, Lisa (Eddie) Alvarado, Jessica (Josh) Smith; two step-sons, Thomas (Katrina) Bateman, Robert (Diana) Bateman; siblings, Sally (Frank) DeNardo, Candace (Joseph) Niemiec, Michael J. (MaryAnn) Valeo; four grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 25, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Minister Jullian Attwood officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 24, at the funeral home.
