Lila Kathrine Lorton, 83, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Friday, January 1, 2016, in an Atlanta hospital.
Heaven gained a special angel on New Year’s Day. Lila met her heavenly father peacefully. Born in1932 in Macomb, Illinois, she got her nursing degree at Knox College and married Donald Lorton in 1956. She was a devoted wife, a terrific homemaker, and faithful disciple of Christ. Lila loved her pet Bichons and riding Rocky Mountain horseswith her friends; even taking trail rides in her 8th decade.
She is survived by her husband, Don Lorton of Cleveland; four children, Kyle of Highland, MD, Kevin of Concord, NC; Jeb of Fishers, IN and Nancy of Fort Wayne, IN; and eight grandchildren.
Memorial services and a celebration of Lila’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 5, at First Baptist Church of Cleveland with Dr. Allan Lockerman, Dr. Rodney Fitzgerald and son, Kyle Lorton officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family would be grateful for donations to the First Baptist Church Library in Cleveland, TN.
