U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander on Tuesday made the following statement after General Motors announced it will add approximately 650 jobs at its Spring Hill plant.
"Thirty-one years after GM chose to locate a plant in Tennessee from among 38 states, the Spring Hill plant is proving that GM made exactly the right decision: Tennessee is still the best place in the country for auto jobs," said Senator Alexander. "I congratulate GM and its Spring Hill employees on this great news."
The Spring Hill plant first opened in 1990.
Tennessee continues to be recognized for its automotive sector.
