Robert Evans
Robert Lee “Bobby” Evans, of Summerville, Georgia, died on Sunday, October 9, 2016, at his residence.
Mr. Evans was born January 5, 1938, in Summerville, Ga., son of the late Abner Lee and Ina Mae Dillard Evans. He was a member of the Pennville First Baptist Church and was the former owner and operator of Evans Welding. He was also a veteran of the United States Air Force.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Pauline “Dot” Morrow Evans; and a brother, Donnie Evans.
Survivors include his children, Terry Evans and Marie Thurman, Steve and Lynn Evans, Britt and Anita Evans; brothers, Buddy Evans and Joe Evans; grandchildren, Jana and Eric Evans, Brooke Bumgarner, Buffy Dawson, Brandon Richardson; great-grandchildren, Emma Bonanno, Colby Evans, Bailey and Brady Carnes, Ellie Dawson, Bryce and Braxton Richardson, Brielle and Baylor Evans, Amelia Bumgarner.
Funeral services for Mr. Evans will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Billy Dempsey and Reverend Johnny Wynn officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jonathon Bumgarner, Brian Flippo, Eric Evans, Rex Collins, Bill Collins, Todd Hammonds, Brandon Richardson, and Dewayne Dawson.
Mr. Evans will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the hour of service on Saturday.
