Mary Taylor
Mary John Reed Taylor, 91, of Ooltewah, died on Friday, October 28, 2016.
She was born on Dec. 7, 1924, in Athens, Tn., to the late John and Myrna Reed.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Judge John B. Taylor.
Mrs. Taylor loved her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Hixson Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Taylor loved to volunteer to help others, especially the Ronald McDonald House and CETA where she helped adults get their G.E.D. She was an avid bridge player and loved to read. She taught for many years in the Hamilton County School System.
Survivors include her children, Steve (Dania) Taylor and Lee Anne (Leonard) Kafka; four granddaughters, Jennifer, Amy, Lindsey, and Jodi; great grandchildren, Ethan, Aleigha, Madison, Gabe, and Sean and niece, Cathy Bryant.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, Oct. 31, at 3 p.m. in the Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Reverend Robert Johnson officiating.
The family will receive friends at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home from 1-3 p.m. on Monday.
