Dawn Curd Alexander, 43, Killed In Wreck That Shut Down I-24 On Sunday

Dawn Curd Alexander, 43, was killed in the accident that shut down Interstate 24 on Sunday.

She was a special education teacher at Northwest Whitfield High School.

A Cadillac Escalade driven by Ms. Alexander, was traveling south on Highway 27, approaching the left curve to I-24 east bound when she struck a Toyota Prius, driven by Cole Spurgeon, 26. The collision caused the Cadillac to go up an embankment and come to rest near the Broad Street exit of I-24 East. The Cadillac rolled several times and the driver was ejected from the vehicle. 

The driver of the Cadillac succumbed to her injuries on the scene. The driver of the Prius had no reported injuries. Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525.
