Deputies with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division received a report on Saturday, indicating a stolen vehicle was observed parked in the driveway of a residence on Johnson Road in Birchwood.
A Chattanooga woman said she was told her stolen truck was seen on Johnson Road so she came to look for it. She saw the truck parked in the open in a driveway. She said there were several people around the truck. When a deputy arrived, the people ran off.
The deputy said part of the center dash had been pulled off and a radio was in the seat of the GMC pickup.
Several other vehicles on the property had no ignition switches.
Deputies were able to identify and recover four stolen vehicles and one ATV from the residence. The vehicles were found to have been stolen from Bradley County, McMinn County, Rhea County and from the city limits of Chattanooga.
The stolen vehicles were towed from the residence and the appropriate law enforcement agency was notified of the recovery.
The owner of the residence, Charles H. Bowman, 57, was arrested and charged with four counts of theft of property.
