Bobby Stone told a friend on the phone on the night of his arrest that he "caught my wife kissing the mayor. . . two weeks ago."

In her statement, Lacie Stone, a top advisor to Mayor Andy Berke, called her husband "delusional."

Assault charges were dismissed against Mr. Stone, who claimed in divorce papers that his wife had committed adultery. Ms. Stone and the mayor deny his charges.

Bobby Stone told police he had been at dinner with Chief Fred Fletcher earlier in the evening, but he told him charges would have to be filed. In a text to Chief Fletcher, an officer said of Bobby Stone, "He doesn't like you anymore."

Both Bobby and Lacie Stone had photos of bruises allegedly incurred in a tussle over Ms. Stone's cell phone.

Some records in the Stone case were released on Tuesday after Open Records requests were filed.

That included dash cam from when an officer took Mr. Stone to be interviewed about the incident.

Mr. Stone said he was "trying to figure out what to tell my neighbors." He said, "I think I'm just going to tell them the truth."

He asked the officer, "Are you married?" Then he said, "I hope yours works out better than mine. I thought mine was going pretty good for awhile."

Mr. Stone then got a phone call and told the person on the other end that he had "made the mistake of calling Chief Fletcher, who's my friend. I was b------- about my wife. And, because I did, he had to file charges. He's a by-the-book guy." He said the Fletchers had been at their home for dinner earlier that night.

He said the police told him that "you called me and she called me, and I'm going to have to turn it in."

Mr. Stone said, "I might end up getting arrested or whatever. I don't know. I didn't do anything."

He said it was "a he said, she said. You know in a he said, she said, the guy always loses."

He said he did not think he would be arrested, saying, "I don't know how this is going to play out. I'm sure the mayor doesn't want this public."

He then said he had caught his wife kissing Mayor Berke. He said, "She said it was just a fluke. . blah, blah, blah."

Mr. Stone said his wife had stayed at a hotel for a week after he said he found her with the mayor. He said they had been trying "to work through it" for the week after that.

That night he said he saw her in the dog yard doing a long text message and he asked to see her phone. He said she would not let him, he grabbed it and they wrestled over the phone. "She didn't want to let me see the phone," he said.

He said throwing a rock through her back window as she left was "not a good move, but it felt good - particularly because it had a Berke sticker on it."

He said his wife "went to Fred's house. I guess because it's close." He said they had "a lovely night" at the dinner party at their home. He said, "We were telling stories about how we got engaged on a sailboat. It's insane."

He commented, "I've been a good husband. I really have."

He said of Lacie Stone, "I've got her whole d--- family in my will."

Asked by his friend what he could do for him, Mr. Stone joked, "Bail me out of jail."

Mr. Stone told the officer it had been "a long time since I've been in the back seat of a patrol car. He said that happened when he had a girlfriend at Chapel Hill, N.C., and was caught speeding there.

Just before he got out of the car, he joked, "If I die in incarceration, the mayor had me killed."He was not handcuffed while being taken from his home. However, he was in handcuffs in the back seat of a patrol car after being arrested.

He said when in handcuffs, "You guys (police) have been (expletive) great by the way."

Mr. Stone at one point said, "Oh, I'll beat it in court."

He said he was "suppose to be getting ready for a graduation tomorrow. I guess I'll be in jail."

He added, "It's just like a dream. I can't see this happening."

Afterward, he repeatedly cussed Fred Fletcher.

He said, "The humiliation of  being (expletive) arrested for something I didn't do is just (expletive) horrible."

Mr. Stone added, "I guess this means I'll be in Just Busted."

Lacie Stone's statement says, "My husband and I got in an argument, we fought over my phone; he smashed my phone; I believe he smashed the back window of my car, although I did not witness him do that. He seems to be delusional and is accusing me of untrue things. I fear for his mental health. He is very paranoid and insecure. He believes I have been unfaithful and wants to seek revenge. I tried to calm him down but felt like it was in my best interest to leave our home."

Bobby Stone's statement says "Saw wife texting person she was having affair with, demanded to see phone, got into wrestling match trying to get phone. Wife hit me several times about the face, finally got phone then grabbed wife by belt and dragged out front door. She re-entered, got phone, and left in my car. I threw stone through rear window in anger. I suffered cuts on hand and abrasions."
