Jarvis Shropshire
Jarvis “Squirt” Shropshire, 61, of Chattanooga, died on Thursday, November 10, 2016, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Nashville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Travis Julius Shropshire and Lena Mae Peel; grandparents, Roy and Clara Shropshire.
Survivors include wife, Robbie Shropshire; sons, Jarvis Shropshire, Jr. and Martemius (Deon) Smith; daughters, YaVette Shropshire-Bibbins, LaToyia (Tommie) Owten, and LaVenia (Jerry) White; brother, Travis Julius Shropshire, Jr., all of Chattanooga; sisters, Linda Wallace of Jacksonville, FL, Frenda “Kate” Wynn of Indianapolis, IN, Brenda Shropshire Stevens, and Janice Stamper, both of Chattanooga; 22 grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He will lie in state on Saturday, Nov. 19, after 10:30 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home with the funeral to follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Harris Toney as eulogist. Burial will be on Tuesday, Nov. 22, at 10 a.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
