Jerold Tyrone Tinson Sr., 71, of Rocky Face, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016.
He was born on Feb. 4, 1945 to the late Tom and Emma Lizzie Bryant Tinson; and was also preceded in death by his daughter, Cassandra Denise Tinson; and brother-in-law, Elonza Langston.
He was a U. S. Army Veteran and retired from Collins and Aikman. He was a member of Mt. Salem Baptist Church and the American Legion.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Mary Alice Herrington Tinson; three sons, Jerold Tyrone Tinson, Jr., Raymond Alexander Tinson and Christopher Allen (Deshaunte) Tinson, all of Rocky Face; grandchildren, Jasmine Tinson, Christopher Tinson, Cassandra Tinson, Aspen Tinson, Miranda Tinson, Ashton Tinson, Alexus Tinson, Anna Tinson, Trevon Tucker and Clinton Tucker; great-grandchildren, Jerald Jayden Tinson and Kameron Tinson; sisters, Shirley (Edward) Little, Mary Anetia (Hugh) Shropshire, Betty Langston, Marcella (Fred) McDade and Effie (Eurskine) Lyons; brother, Gerald Lee Tinson; aunts, Hattie Mullins and Clara Bryant; and a host of other brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The Service of Celebration will be Saturday, Dec. 3 at 1 p.m. at the Willis Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Eugene Miller, officiating and Rev. James Clark as Eulogist. Interment will follow in Stoney Point Cemetery in Rocky Face.
His remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Friday and the family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6-8 p.m.
