A child suffered life-threatening injuries in a two-vehicle accident on Tuesday on Harrison Pike. Chattanooga Police Traffic Division responded to the accident in the 2400 block of Harrsion Pike.
Michael Cook, 38, the driver of a Ford Escape was traveling east on Harrison Pike.
He told investigators a Mazda 3 was heading westbound. Jeremy Mason, 33, the driver of the Mazda lost control and traveled into the lane Mr. Cook was traveling in. Mr. Cook was unable to avoid the Mazda, striking it in the right rear. The Mazda spun off and came to rest off the roadway on the eastbound side.
Mr. Cook suffered no injuries. Mr. Mason refused medical evaluation at the scene. A juvenile passenger in the Mazda was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
