New development continues to spread along East Main Street in the direction of Missionary Ridge.
Jay Martin of Renew is planning 8,000 square feet of commercial space and 14 residential units at 1155 East Main near Gulf Street, where The Mill is located.
The property, which is less than an acre, is owned by Randy Johnston of Mr. T's Tires Inc.
The project will include an existing one-story commercial building as well as two two-story mixed use buildings fronting Main Street.
A single curb cut will support a shared-use parking area.
The plan is to go from manufacturing zoning to UGC General Commercial Zone.
The case goes before the Planning Commission next Monday at 1 p.m. at the County Courthouse.
