Charge Dismissed Against Former Ooltewah High Coach For Failing To Report Gatlinburg Incident

  • Friday, December 16, 2016

Criminal Court Judge Don Poole on Friday morning dismissed a charge against former Ooltewah High School basketball coach Andre "Tank" Montgomery for failing to report a child rape incident.

Judge Poole said the coach may have had a moral obligation to do so, but was not legally required.  District Attorney Neal Pinkston said he may appeal the decision.

Three Ooltewah High basketball players were charged in assaults on several freshman players with a pool stick in the rectum area.

The incident happened at a rental cabin in Sevier County just before last Christmas.
