Evelyn Lucille Ball, 83, of Chatsworth, Georgia, died on Saturday December 24, 2016 at her residence.
Evelyn was born April 27, 1933 in Resaca, GA to the late Reverend Lemuel and Dora Parker Gillian; and was also preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Ralph D. Ball; and a brother-in-law, Farris Cox.
She was a member of the Church of God of the New Testament. Evelyn was a wonderful person, with a gentle spirit who always spoke well of everyone. She loved to read and try new things.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Phillip Green of Chatsworth, GA; sons and daughter-in-law, David Ball of Chatsworth, GA, Scott and Deborah Ball of Copperhill, TN; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Stephanie and Josh Ray of Cartersville, GA; great-granddaughter, Savannah Ray; sister, Brenda Cox of Dalton, GA; nieces, Karen Cox, Robin Hollinsworth and Candice Ballew; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Charles Ball of Ringgold, Mack and Juanita Ball, Floyd and Peggy Ball all of Dalton, GA; and several cousins.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Evelyn L. Ball will be held Tuesday, December 27, at 2 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Herman Ledbetter officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at New Hope-Kilgore Cemetery in Murray County, GA.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 11 a.m. Tuesday morning until the service hour.
