James Walter Gilliam "JW – Doobie", 82, of Whitwell, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Wallace Gilliam; daughter, Kathy Lynn Gilliam; and parents, Oscar & Bessie Gilliam.
He attended Mineral Springs Church of God and Fairview Union Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Vickie Jo McKinney; grandchildren, Mary Ann McKay, Roger Todd Smith and Valerie Smith; and great-grandchildren, Cameron, Anthony, Matthew, Colton, J.R., Hailey and Alyssa.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11 in the funeral home chapel with Reverends Rab Ramsey and Joey Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Walden Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 12-8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10.
