Julia L. Jones, 87, died on January 29, 2016 at her residence.

She had retired from Partnership for Families, Children and Adults, where she also served as Foster-grandparent for 14 years.  She was a member of Westside Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Jones; parents, Jessie and Suzanne Stewart; brothers, Claude, James and Bishop Archie Stewart and sister, Jessie Mae Truitt.

Survivors include her children, Arthur  J. White, Atlanta, GA; Jessie (Vera) White, Chattanooga; Timothy (Pat) White, Chattanooga; Cornelia White-Williams, Snellville, GA; Maurice (Bonitta) White, Chattanooga; sister, Mittie Ellis, Chattanooga, and brother, Adolph Stewart, Pacoima, CA; 16 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, friends and Partnership Family, Children Services of Chattanooga.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 3, in the chapel.  Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.

The body will lie in state after noon on Tuesday, Feb. 2, and the family will receive friends from 6–7 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
