Arthur James Donahue is facing charges in connection with a robbery at a parking garage at 300 Broad St. on Monday afternoon.

David Richardson said he returned to his green Honda coupe and found a man inside. He said when he asked the man what he was doing, he exited the vehicle, put his hand in his jacket, and said, "I have a gun. Drop your keys."

He said he handed over the keys and was told to walk to the elevator with his hands up.

He said the robber then said, "Stop. Come back," but he kept running before finding an off-duty officer at the Aquarium.

Responding officers were directed to the Honda that was stopped at the on ramp from Fourth Street to Highway 27. The driver got out and began running. He was caught after a foot chase.

The victim identified the man, the 25-year-old Donahue, who lives on Clifton Terrace, as the robber.

Police found considerable damage to the ignition, and there was a pair of gloves left inside the vehicle.

Donahue said there was another person at the scene, who was armed with a gun. The victim said Donahue was the only person present.

Donahue later said he tried to take the vehicle because his girlfriend was being evicted and he needed some quick money.
