Hamilton Heights Surges To NACA National Title

DAYTON, Tenn. – Hamilton Heights got a pair of double-double  efforts Friday night and rolled past Mount Mission (Va.), 73-44, to capture the National Association of Christian Athletes national basketball championship at Fort Bluff.

Silas Adheke scored 15 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Hawks (27-3), who outscored three opponents 210-146 to claim their first NACA title.

Abdulhakim Ado tossed in 12 points and pulled down 14 rebounds – nine on the defensive glass – in the easy victory. He also had four assists.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker added 13 points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals.

Therren Shelton-Szmidt scored 11 points and blocked four shots.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored nine points and had five rebounds.

Hamilton Heights out-rebounded Mount Mission, 45-25.

In the three tournament games, the Hawks’ three Canadian players combined for 128 points, or 42.7 per game. All three were named to the NACA All-Tournament team.
