Heavy Rain Causes Closure Of Some Roads Due To Flooding; Some Schools Closed, Delayed

  • Wednesday, February 3, 2016

There were several roads flooded or barricaded in Hamilton County Wednesday morning after heavy rains overnight.

Also, some area school systems were closed or had delays. Meigs County Schools were closed. Bledsoe and Catoosa schools were on a two-hour delay.

Some of the heaviest rain was in downtown Chattanooga and Lookout Valley.

The East entrance to the Riverpark is closed this morning due to high water across the road. This is the entrance between CB Robinson Bridge and Chattanooga State.

While the entire length of the roads below may not be closed, portions may be blocked causing drivers to detour.

All roads were reported open by late Wednesday afternoon.
