Blood Assurance Offers Movie Tickets To Donors This Tuesday And Wednesday

  • Monday, March 21, 2016

Non-profit regional blood center, Blood Assurance, is partnering with Fandango on Tuesday and Wednesday, to give all blood donors a code for a free movie ticket of their choice in celebration of the premiere of “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” opening March 25. Most recently, Blood Assurance has called on community members, particularly those with type O negative blood, to help save local patients’ lives across the region by taking just 30 minutes out of their day to make a blood donation. All donations will be sent to local hospitals and save at least three lives per donation.

“Due to people traveling for spring break, our donations have been critically low over the past week, and we encourage anyone who is able to come out and donate next week and receive a complimentary movie ticket,” said Mindy Quinn, marketing manager for Blood Assurance. “It is easy to forget that the need for blood is constant. Whether it’s a local patient that needs a transfusion or an accident victim, people are in continuous, critical need of blood donations. We can’t thank the community enough for helping us meet the needs of local hospital patients.”

Donors may decide to forgo the movie ticket and receive the March promotion t-shirt instead. To be eligible to donate blood, you must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with parental consent), weigh 110 pounds or more and be in good health. Donors are asked to drink plenty of fluids - avoiding caffeine - and eat a meal that is rich in iron prior to donating. For questions about donating blood, please call (423)-756-0966.
