Dalton Police Investigating Theft Of Wallet At Food City

The Dalton Police Department is hoping a member of the public can identify a woman who stole a wallet that a customer accidently left behind at a Food City grocery store. The thief was recorded on the store’s surveillance system.

The incident happened shortly after 5 p.m. on Dec. 8, at the Food City store on Glenwood Avenue.  The victim left her wallet on a checkout counter. The next customer behind the victim paid for her order and then took the victim’s wallet. She then left the store. The suspect is a white woman with shoulder-length dark brown or black hair. She wore jeans and a long-sleeved white T-shirt. She was riding one of the store’s electronic mobility carts in the store.
