Justin Holland
Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke picked Deputy Administrator of Public Works, Justin Holland, to lead the City of Chattanooga Public Works Department this week. Mr. Holland has worked for the City of Chattanooga since 2005 and was named deputy administrator of Public Works in August of 2013. His appointment to administrator comes after the retirement of former Public Works Administrator Lee Norris, earlier this year.
"Over the years, Justin has shown a passion for serving the City of Chattanooga and is committed to providing excellent essential services to citizens throughout our community," said Mayor Berke.
"With a focus on efficiency and effectiveness, Justin will work hand-in-hand with our external partners and other City departments to ensure the City is making smart investments in infrastructure, cutting red tape to improve processes, and improving how we serve our constituents."
Prior to his time as deputy administrator of Public Works, Mr. Holland served as Sanitation manager for over five years. He also worked as the Safety & Training coordinator from March 2005 to November 2007 and held a certification as a landfill operator from 2012 to 2015. Mr. Holland was named American Public Works Association (APWA) Young Leader of the Year in 2011 and serves as the APWA Region Director as well as Treasurer for the Tennessee Chapter of Solid Waste Association of North America. Mr. Holland earned his bachelor's degree in 2000 and master's of public administration in 2004, both from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
Mr. Holland will begin his role as administrator of the Department of Public Works immediately.
