Tivoli Foundation teamed with AC Entertainment continues on track bringing top quality entertainment to the Scenic City showcasing the Jewel of the South, the historic Tivoli Theatre.  The experience of catching your favorite artists, bands, plays or other events in the Tivoli is beyond words to express.  The intimate setting, great historic stage presentation with excellent sound and light mix and the overall character brings area patrons from the Tri-State area and tourists from all over the world to experience the feeling.

The concert performance of Third Day was an extraordinaire one. Ted Gocke, On air personality for Christian radio J-103, introduced Third Day to the stage.  As part of the event special guest and former front singer from Newsboy Peter Furler shared many of his well-crafted award winning songs. .. He Reigns, It Is You, Holy Holy Holy, Amazing Love and many other worship songs. Also, Harvest Parker joined Third Day as soloist sharing her song of praise “To The One”, also adding backup vocals and leading a local all-volunteer choir during the performance.

A highlight during the performance was when Mac Powell took time to offer audience participation by requesting songs from Third Day's 23 years of making Christian praise music.  The high point of the night was when am Iraq veteran spoke up during the request and claimed “he played the drums in Iraq for them.” Mac Powell heard the man make the statement and invited him to the drum kit.  The veteran played the drums with much passion receiving a heartfelt standing ovation and accolades from the band.  I don’t think I have ever been to a concert event of a near full house where the lead singer shared the stage with such a meaningful connection with the audience.  The Chattanooga crowd was thrilled to show honor to a serviceman to walk out of the aisle and perform a flawless part, playing for one of the most successful Christian bands.  It was a sweet reunion for one serviceman and his favorite band.

Third Day is a Christian rock band formed in Marietta, Ga., during the 1990s. The band was founded by lead singer Mac Powell, guitarist Mark Lee and former member Billy Wilkins. Drummer David Carr is a current band member. The band's name is a reference to the biblical accounts of Jesus' rising from the dead on the third day following his crucifixion. The band was inducted in the Georgia Music Hall of Fame on September 19, 2009. They have sold over 7 million albums in the United States and had 28 number one radio hits. Their fans are known as "Gomers" after a song on their second album about Gomer. *https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third_Day

Third Day released the worship album Lead Us Back: Songs of Worship on March 3, 2015. The album, produced by The Sound Kids (Jonny Macintosh and JT Daly) as a worship experience with Third Day at the center of a "friend choir", peaked at No. 20 on the Billboard 200, No. 1 on the Christian Albums chart, No. 5 on the Top Rock Albums chart and No. 13 on the Digital Albums chart. The album has had one single, "Soul on Fire", that spent 19 weeks on the Billboard charts, peaking at No. 2 on Hot Christian Songs[31] and No. 3 on Christian Digital Songs.[32] In 2015, bassist Tai Anderson announced he would take "a break from the upcoming touring season with Third Day". Anderson has been with the band for 23 years.

The group was nominated for 13 Grammys taking home four, in addition to being nominated over 43 times for a Gospel Music Award and winning 23.

The Chattanooga Tivoli performance with Third Day included Mac Powell, lead vocals, Mark Lee, vocals, guitar, David Carr, drummer and also touring is Scotty Wilbanks, keyboard and Tim Gibson, bass.  You may follow Peter Furler, Harvest Parker and Third Day on social media and their websites.
