A woman was shot Thursday night in East Ridge.
East Ridge police and fire units were dispatched around midnight to the Cascades Motel at 3657 Ringgold Road, on a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper leg. Fire personnel administered first aid while officers secured the scene.
The victim, Meagan Herrera, was transported to Erlanger. Witnesses at the motel stated the shooting occurred outside the motel room Ms. Herrera was visiting.
The investigation is ongoing.
