Ready to Rock: Introduction to Rock Climbing May 1-June 19

Join Outdoor Chattanooga for Ready to Rock: Introduction to Rock Climbing at the Walnut Wall in Coolidge Park every first and third Sunday of the month beginning Sunday, April 17 through Sunday, June 19 from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m.
No experience necessary and all equipment is provided. Gym shoes and longer shorts or athletic pants are recommended. Minors must be accompanied by a parents or legal guardian to sign the assumption of risk and liability release form. Free to the public and appropriate for the family, ages 5 & up. Rapid Learning Program May 4

Outdoor Chattanooga's Rapid Learning Program returns to the great outdoors on Wednesday, May 4. You'll find us back at Chester Frost Park offering two sessions from 6 - 7 and 7 - 8 p.m. All equipment is provided and first-timers are free. No reservations or experience necessary. Outdoor Recreation Mapping and Apping Party April 21

Mappers, Designers, Coders, Outdoor Enthusiasts, and interested Citizens are invited to be a part of an Outdoor Recreation Mapping and Apping Party hosted by Open Chattanooga on Thurs., April 21 at 5:30 p.m. at Outdoor Chattanooga. The purpose of the Map & App Party? To create a free, open, interactive outdoor recreation map for the Chattanooga region. Why should you come??? Because the best outdoor city deserves the best outdoor recreation map! Because PDF maps on a bunch of different websites do not make it easy to find outdoor activities and you should be able to go to one resource to find the outdoor activity you're interested in! 5th Annual Tennessee Bike Summit April 22 & 23
The 2016 TN Bike Summit returns to Chattanooga on April 22 and 23. The Summit will feature presentations and workshops focused on Public Health, Bicycle Tourism, Policy and Infrastructure. The keynote lineup features nationally renowned speakers from across the country, and breakout presentations will feature transportation professionals, officials, and advocates from across all sectors of Tennessee's bicycling ecosystem. If Trees Could Sing Launch Party at Coolidge Park April 23
Come celebrate Earth Day with The Nature Conservancy's If Trees Could Sing Launch Party at Coolidge Park on Friday, April 22, from 6 - 8 p.m. The event is FREE and will feature live musical performances. There will be an Eco-Village with 20 exhibitors, food vendors, and more. Bring your camp chairs, blankets, and the whole family!

Outdoor Expo & Gear Swap April 23

Chattanooga's 9th Annual Outdoor Expo and Gear Swap is Sat., April 23 at the Gear Closet, 535 Cherokee Blvd. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Outdoor Chattanooga, Rock Creek, Outdoor Camps, Environmental Groups and Gear Swappers will be there to showcase what they have to offer. Booth's are $20 and admission is free to the public! There will be food, music and kids activities. All proceeds go to Kid's for Clean Water Student Environmental Alliance. Clean & Green April 23
Clean & Green is Downtown Chattanooga's annual cleanup event and a way to give back to your downtown community. Downtown districts and surrounding neighborhoods are targeted for Clean and Green efforts, which include trash and recyclable collection, graffiti removal and greenery efforts. Check-in at 8 a.m. on Sat., April 23 at Miller Plaza, 850 Market Street. At check-in, you'll receive supplies, your assigned cleaning area, a complimentary breakfast and volunteer freebies. Anyone can participate-sign up as an individual or gather a team. Interested in participating? Call 423.265.3700. 

Adaptive Cycling with City of Chattanooga Therapeutic Recreation April 25

The adaptive cycling program offers three wheeled trikes, hand cycles, recumbent and tandem bikes for individuals with physical and visual disabilities that want to get out and get active. The program is co-Sponsored by SPARC (Sports, Arts and Recreation of Chattanooga) and City of Chattanooga's Therapeutic Recreation Division. Outdoor Chattanooga provides a fleet of cruiser style bicycles and helmets for volunteers to check out and use for additional support on the ride. Riders meet at the Hubert Fry Center at Tennessee Riverpark. The program runs 6:00 p.m. to dusk on the following dates: April 25, May 9, May 23, June 13, and June 27. COST: FREE! Free Entrance to Point Park During National Park Week April 16-24
The National Park Service celebrates its 100th anniversary during National Park Week, Saturday, April 16 through Sunday, April 24. Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park will waive the entrance fee to Point Park, atop Lookout Mountain, to encourage all Americans to visit their national parks and participate in a ranger-guided program. At Lookout Mountain Battlefield, inside Point Park, ranger-guided walking tours are scheduled for Saturday, April 23 and for Sunday, April 24 at 11 a.m. and at 2 p.m. These programs begin inside the Point Park entrance gate. Chickamauga Battlefield is always free and will be hosting special programs in honor of National Park Week. On Saturday, April 23, a car caravan tour is scheduled at 10 am and a special program exploring the history of the National Park Service is scheduled at 2 pm. These programs begin inside the Chickamauga Battlefield Visitor Center.
