Anthony Murray
Anthony Lebron "Tony" Murray, 57, died peacefully on April 25, 2016 at his residence.
He was the son of the late Calvin Murray and Bettye Murray-Atkins. He was a 1977 graduate of Brainerd High School and was formerly employed by U. S. Pipe and Foundry.
"Tony" was a faithful member of Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed working in the yard and beautifying his neighborhood.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Sharon Dodds Murray, father: Calvin Murray, grandparents: J. T. and Pauline Murray, Olden and Gentsey Willis.
Survivors include his sons, DeAnthony (Christine) Murray, Poughkeepsie, NY, Jonathan (Amanda) Murray, Alexandria, VA, one loving and adorable granddaughter, Skylar Murray, stepchildren, William Smith, LaTonia (Minister Kenneth) Ware, loving mother and stepfather, Bettye (Elbert) Atkins, brother, Gregory (Pearl) Murray, sisters, Valerie Evans and Alicia Dianne Parks, mother-in-law, Noel Dodds, father-in-law, Ronald Dodds, Sr., uncles, Fred (Florida) Murray, all of Chattanooga, Roosevelt (Gloria) Willis and Billy Willis both of Molena, GA, aunts, Bertha Holloway, Columbus, OH, Mary Lillian (Lacy) Lucier, Griffin, GA, Alberta (Albert) Blackmon, Laura Ann (Johnny) Parks, Alice (Robert) Lamar all of Molena, GA, Dorothy (Rueben) Washington, Homestead, FL Thelma Collier, Chattanooga, many other relatives and friends.
Visitation is on Saturday, April 30, from 5-6 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Sunday, May 1, at 1 p.m. at Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Samuel Jackson as the eulogist. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.
