Melvin Kerr
Melvin Kerr, 87, of Hixson, died on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Soddy Daisy Healthcare Center.
Born in Dayton, he had lived in Hixson for most of his life. He retired from Dixie Yarns with over 50 years of service and was of the Church of God faith.
Melvin was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel and eight siblings.
Survivors include his children, Patricia (Isaac) McBryar of Chattanooga and Steven (Starr) Kerr of Baton Rouge; four grandchildren, Jo Marie Brotton, Chris, Cartter, and Katie Kerr; two great-grandchildren, Hannah Brotton and Claire Kerr; and several nieces and nephews.
