Lawman, Ava "Tab" Lowe (Cleveland)

Ava “Tab” Lowe Lawman, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on Monday morning, May 30, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family and friends.

She was born and raised on Lookout Mountain and spent her adult life in Cleveland and Georgetown. She was the daughter of the late Helen Wright Lowe Gregg and S. B. Lowe. Tab was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Cleveland, TN where she loved attending and participating until her health prevented that. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar H. Lawman Jr.; two sons, Teddy Lawman and Sammy Lawman; one grandson, Jeremiah Lawman; one great-grandson, Thomas James Parker; her step-father, Dr. Harris Gregg; one sister, Mary Elsie Lowe Navarre; and one brother, Sam B. Lowe III. 

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Elsie Lawman; two sons, David Lawman and his wife Terry and Thomas Lawman of Chattanooga; one adopted daughter, Debra Willis Lynch; four grandchildren, Emily Prater (Michael), Hannah Lawman, Audrey Lawman and Laura Burrell (Ben); two great-grandchildren, Kaylee Rose Pettit and Ethan Prater; and numerous other extended family members, church family members and special friends. 

The family would like to say a special thank you to Carolyn Moore and Glenda Adams for their faithful and loving care towards Tab and her family. 

A memorial service is planned for Thursday, June 2 at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church located at 433 North Ocoee Street in Cleveland, TN with Dr. Joseph R. Tanner officiating.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. in the church narthex. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Tab’s memory to the J. O. Y. School for the handicapped children at First Presbyterian Church. Those can be sent to the First Presbyterian Church J.O.Y. School 433 N. Ocoee Street, Cleveland, TN 37311
