East Ridge Fire Rescue responded to 622 Layfield Road, around 6:15 a.m. on Wednesday, on a reported residential structure fire.
Firefighters immediately began to lay lines and attack the fire in a detached outbuilding. They were able to quickly extinguish the fire with minimal damage to the main residence.
The fire is under investigation and a cause has not been determined.
