Pastor Appreciation Day To Be Held At Cosmopolitan Community Church June 19

  • Saturday, June 11, 2016

An Appreciation Day will be held for Rev. Arvel Lloyd Edwards on Sunday, June 19, at 11:30 a.m. at the Cosmopolitan Community Church, 1802 East 12th Street.

Rev. Edwards succeeded his grandfather, Rev. J. Loyd Edwards, Jr. upon his passing two years ago. Rev. Arvel Edwards survived an abusive mother and witnessed the murder-suicide of his parents at age 11.

After high school Mr. Edwards fulfilled his dream by leaving Oklahoma to live with his grandfather in Chattanooga, TN. He graduated from UTC with a BS degree in Philosophy and Religion and a master’s degree in Public Administration.

We will salute his willingness to fill part of the void left by our long-time pastor.

Nathaniel Edwards and Anita Chapman will offer the main testimonials. The floor will be open to those who want to honor their fathers on this Father’s Day. Dinner will be served following the service.
