Thelma VonRohr Layne, 102, of Dunlap, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016.
She is a descendent of Jacob R. VonRohr of the Swiss Colony in Gruettli-Laager, TN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Paul Layne; sons, Jerry and Rudolph Layne; daughter, Glenda Holland; parents, Jacob and Virtye Pope VonRohr; brothers, Fred, Walter, and Wilson VonRohr; sisters, Flora White, Una Cordell, and Ina Holiday; and granddaughter, Gilda Lowe.
Survivors include her children, Sue Brown, Bobby Layne, Janice (Carl) Roberson, Johnny Paul (Judy) Layne, Charlotte Layne, Jimmy Don (Gail) Layne and Keith (Linda) Layne; sister, Alice Goforth; 22 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. CST Friday, June 24, in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Robert Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Cookston Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 23.
