Cell Phone Data Sought In Diaz-Cruz, Smith Kidnapping, Rape

  • Tuesday, June 7, 2016
Iver Diaz-Cruz’s attorney said he is seeking cell phone information in his client’s case.

Diaz-Cruz and co-defendant Darren Lee Smith appeared briefly in court on Tuesday to request more time before a bond reduction hearing. Both men are charged in the December kidnapping and rape of a woman at 4A’s Motel on Ringgold Road.

Defense attorney Marty Lasley said attorneys still do not have any cell phone data or records and that they need such information to move forward.

“When we see some of that information, I think that’s gonna be helpful,” he said.

The next court date has been set for July 5.
