Try An Adventure At City Sweat

  • Tuesday, June 7, 2016

City Center and Downtown Chattanooga become a free gym and obstacle course this Thursday, for City Sweat: TriAdventure. Modeled after diversified fitness experiences like triathlons, City Sweat: TriAdventure will take participants through a one-mile run, strength training exercises and a condensed yoga practice beginning at 6 p.m. in Miller Plaza, 850 Market Street.

A beginner friendly experience, local fitness instructor Lisa Blevins will lead the workout session which will make a stop at Main Terrain Art Park.

Running shoes, water and a sense of adventure are required to participate. At the end of the yoga session back in Miller Plaza, Local Juice, a cold pressed, raw and organic juice bar located on East Main Street, will be onsite rewarding participants with a free paleta, a traditional Mexican frozen treat similar to a popsicle but made with real fresh fruit juice.

“Experiencing Downtown in new ways and creating opportunities that contribute to our unique sense of place as a city are two of the many reasons we love City Sweat,” states Amy Donahue, Marketing and Communication Manager for River City Company. “Having a partner like lululemon athletica Chattanooga who brings expertise in designing these events and supplies high quality ambassadors and instructors to lead the courses really make these classes superior and unique fitness opportunities for our community.”

Along with River City Company, City Sweat is sponsored by lululemon athletica Chattanooga. City Sweat will occur the second Thursday of every month, April through August, with each session exploring a new workout genre. Past classes have included yoga and biking.  For more information about each class, visit www.millerplazachattanooga.com.
