Mr. Steelman said, "On election day, months of planning and preparation by the Election Commission is ultimately placed in the hands of over 900 temporary workers.  To serve in this capacity workers are required to undergo training on election procedures, election law, and functionality of voting equipment."

Officials said they are still lining up the necessary workers.

Mr. Steelman said there is a possibility that the polling place that has been held at the Avondale Recreation Center may have to be moved. He said election officials had not been able to get a firm answer from city officials on when the current center will be torn down and work start on a replacement center that is due to open in the fall of 2017.
