Virginia Inez McMillon Miller, of Red Bank, died on Friday, July 1, 2016, one week before her 80th birthday.

Virginia for many years was employed at Lee Highway Barber Shop as a barber.  She ran various businesses in Florida before returning to Chattanooga.  A determined, independent woman she always took care of her family to the best of her ability, even in the hardest of times.  Virginia enjoyed spending time at the Red Bank Senior Citizens and the Soddy Daisy Senior Center. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Miller, Sr.; father, Walter Amos McMillon; mother, Dixie McMillon Perkins; and a brother, Walter “Dub” McMillon. 

Virginia is survived by her children, Verla Joan “Peb” Elliott, Vivian Fontain, and Rodney Miller, all of Palm Bay, FL, Eula “Sammie” Fitzsimmons, Livonia, MI, Donita Baird, Nashville, TN, and Paul Miller, Jr., Chattanooga; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Yvonne McMillon Karr, and sister-in-law, Suzanne Miller, both of Chattanooga; step-brother, Jim McMillon, Michigan.

The family will receive friends from 1-2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
