Winston Allan “Bud” Holcomb, 83, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2016.
Bud was born in Hamilton County on Sept. 12, 1932. He served in the United States Air Force before starting a career in the aerospace industry, including the Apollo moon program in central Florida. He later worked with Gillman paper and ITT Rayonier on Amelia Island before returning to Tennessee in 1980. Bud enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He was an avid sportsman.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leon “Lucky” Holcomb and his wife Mattie Lou Holcomb of Ringgold; and his mother, Lennie Thomas Hale of Cleveland.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Holcomb; his son, Brian Holcomb and wife Diane of Woodstock, GA; his children by marriage, Tami Ward of Oklahoma and Gilbert Arms of Cleveland; an adopted daughter, Celeste Reeder St. Clair; grandchildren, Ashley Ward of Chattanooga and Breelee Arms of Cleveland; and cousin Margie (Holcomb) Walker and husband Harry if Decatur, GA.
The family will not have any public services at this time. They request that memorials be made to Hospice of Chattanooga.
