The Nov. 8 ballot will include two proposed city charter changes as well as a referendum to allow wine sales at grocery stores in the unincorporated county and in Soddy Daisy.
Voters earlier approved wine sales in groceries in the city of Chattanooga and other local municipalities.
The city charter changes include the definition of a City Council budget and management analyst as well as a requirement that newly hired city employees live in the state of Tennessee.
The ballot will also include election of a replacement on the County Commission for the District 3 seat. It is now held by Marty Haynes, who is becoming assessor of property on Sept. 1.
The Democratic and Republican parties are holding caucuses to choose candidates.
Independents can also run, but not if they first try to get one of the parties to nominate them.
Candidates must qualify by Sept. 14. The deadline to withdraw is Sept. 17.
There will just be a couple of weeks to campaign.
Greg Martin, county school board member, is seeking the GOP nod.
