Police said validated Gangster Disciple member Anthony George and several associates robbed a man at gunpoint on Kirby Avenue on Friday before leading police on a wild chase on Saturday.
The pursuit on Saturday included George driving a rented white Chrysler at a high rate of speed through the Chattanooga Airport parking lot. Police said two gates were broken and two vehicles hit.
In the incident Friday at 1:18 p.m., a Kirby Street resident said a white Chrysler with Florida tags pulled up in front of his house and four black males got out. He said they told him they needed to talk to him.
He said guns were then drawn and he was made to strip. He gave them $600 in cash.
The Chrysler circled the block, then stopped back by, with the occupants saying they wanted to go inside. The resident said his family was inside so they left.
Police then began looking for the white Chrysler, and it was spotted the next day at the Greyhound Bus Station on Airport Road. The Chrysler collided with the passenger side of a vehicle from the U.S. Marshal's Office as it careened toward the Airport.
The vehicle later crashed on East Brainerd Road and the three occupants tried to flee.
Found in the vehicle were two handguns. George had on him a pistol holster, crack cocaine, three plastic baggies and $570 in cash.
Taken into custody were George, 27, of 301 Croll Court; Perry Thomas, 21, and Darious Woods, 20.
