Fire Damages Home On 12th Avenue

The Chattanooga Fire Department responded to a fire Friday night at 2418 12th Ave.

The call came in just after 9 p.m.  Upon arrival, firefighters witnessed heavy smoke coming from the rear of the home. Firefighters performed an interior search, and then made an aggressive interior attack. The fire was under control in roughly 20 minutes.   

The fire caused an estimated $25,000 in damages.  All those inside the residence made it out safely.  Volunteers with the American Red Cross of Southeast Tennessee responded to the scene to provide assistance to the fire victims. Chattanooga Police and Hamilton County EMS also provided assistance on the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
