Chattanooga Traditional Dance Society Presents Contra Dance Saturday

  • Thursday, September 8, 2016
Chattanooga Traditional Dance Society presents its monthly Contra Dance open to all, featuring calling by Vicki Herndon, with music by Horse Mountain, on Saturday from 7:30-11 p.m. at the Brainerd United Methodist Church’s Lundy Hall, 4315 Brainerd Road. Admission is $8; $5 for students.

"Everyone is invited to join our welcoming, family-friendly community and enjoy this lively, traditional social dance. No partners are necessary. All dances are taught in walk-throughs. Toe-tapping live music makes even sitting out enjoyable.
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes and bring an extra pair of clean, soft-soled shoes for dancing. Note: hard-soled boots or shoes are not allowed on the dance floor. There is always a contra basics lesson for newcomers at the beginning of the dance, so plan to arrive early," officials said.
