Bobby Souther, 81, of Chatsworth, Georgia and formerly of the Deep Springs Community, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, H.F. "Doug" and Cora Souther; brothers, Ralph, Wallace, and J.B. Souther; and sisters, Grace Wilson and Sybil Headrick.
He was a retired firefighter from the Cobb County Fire Department after serving for 26 years. He loved hunting, fishing, and being outdoors, but most of all, he loved his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Langley Souther; two daughters and sons-in-law and Connie and Clifford Thompson of Chatsworth, Michelle and Brian Jones of Marietta; one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Tracy Souther of Dalton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gladys and Jimmy Wilson, Mae and Charles Bearden, Jewel Breeden, all of Dalton; six grandchildren, Aimee Thompson, Michael and Savannah Thompson, Kaitlyn and Austin Duncan, Bradley Mathis and Mallory and Mitchell Souther; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Friday, January 13, at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Chaplain Richard Long officiating. Burial will be in the Varnell Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. until the service time at 2 p.m.
