Laura Quinnetta Hayes-Norman, 70, died on Tuesday, September 27, 2017, at Erlanger East Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee, following a brief illness.
 
After relocating to Washington, D.C., from Ashtabula County, Oh., where she was raised, Quinnetta, as she was known, devoted herself to her family and a career in education, including as assistant to the Dean of Students, Sidwell Friends School. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she served faithfully in a number of capacities including choir and deaconess board.
 
She is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, the Reverend John Norman, her loving children, Darnell, Tiffany and Justin (Laura), her mother, Evelyn Mae Hayes, and her many siblings, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., Chattanooga, Tn. 37404.
 
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 5, at First Baptist Church of LaFayette, Ga., at 6 p.m.
