Habitat For Humanity Of Catoosa County Seeking Donations

  • Thursday, October 5, 2017

Catoosa County Habitat for Humanity is seeking specific donations for their affiliate.

“What we are in need of most is storage space, tools, and food donations for our volunteer groups.” said Penny Mahon, Catoosa Habitat’s executive director. “With a new home beginning to be built we are in need of these items to help serve our affiliate.”

Storage space would be used to store various tools and supplies related to their construction effort. “As a small affiliate we cannot afford a storage unit on our own and if someone is willing to donate storage space we would be most grateful,” said Ms. Mahon. “With the storage space we would be able to have a safe place to put our tools and equipment as we begin our new construction efforts.”

Tools are also an essential need for Habitat to fulfill their mission of providing decent homes to families in need.  “We have tools but we are in need of more,” said Ms. Mahon. “If any businesses or even individuals feel in their heart to give to Habitat we would be more than happy to accept their donation of tools.” Catoosa Habitat is especially in need of shovels, hammers, and general construction supplies.

Another need at Catoosa Habitat is food for volunteers. “When volunteers come out on a project for Habitat we feed them in order to show our appreciation,” said Ms. Mahon. “We have had many restaurants donate food for our cause and are looking for more food donations as we expand our volunteer opportunities.” Restaurants that have donated in the past include Domino’s, Krystal, and Chick-fil-A.

Anyone wishing to donate the items mentioned is encouraged to contact Catoosa Habitat at 706 861-5858. “Any donation is greatly appreciated and will help our affiliate serve more families in the community,” said Ms. Mahon.
