Emily Adams, known for her spirit and tenacity, wearing her T-shirt that says, "I can do whatever I want; this is my birthday month!"
Family and many friends gathered at the home of Emily Harvey Adams to celebrate her achievement of “100 years young” on Sept. 29. The celebration lasted all weekend, as many friends came to share in the unique birthday milestone.
Mrs. Harvey married Dr. Jack Adams, who served in the U.S. Army with a medical team, prior to civilian life. They were married 52 years, having three children and four grandchildren.
Among the many friends and neighbors who attended the 100th birthday celebration were members of First Presbyterian Church; the Nancy Ward Chapter, TSDAR, where Mrs. Adams served as chapter regent from 1983-1985; and members of the Prudhomme Fort Chapter Colonial Dames Seventeenth Century.
